  In the process of testing lithium ion battery packs in the laboratory, explosion-proof boxes and thermostats are often used. The battery explosion-proof box used in the laboratory is mostly used for the test of large capacity batteries, and also used in the research of some special performance tests of button type batteries, such as high magnification and high temperature performance tests. When selecting the thermostats, try to use the thermostats specially used for battery testing. Such thermostats contain professional insulation and thermal insulation ports for connecting battery test leads.

  2. Routine experimental process of lithium ion battery charge and discharge test

  Install the test battery on the test instrument and place it in a test environment of (25 ± 1) ℃. Set the following procedure: Let it stand for 10 min; Charge to 4.2 V at a constant current of 1.0 C, then charge at a constant voltage until the current drops to 0.05 C, and the charging stops; Allow to stand for 5 min; Then discharge to 3.0 V at 1.0 C constant current; Repeat the above charging and discharging steps for 5-10 times.

  The above test parameters are conventional all cell test parameters. The voltage range of normal cathode materials/lithium metal button batteries is 3.0~4.3 V, and the voltage range of negative electrode materials/lithium metal button batteries is 0.005~1.0 V. The voltage range of special high-voltage cathode materials or other cathode materials (such as lithium iron phosphate materials) can be adjusted according to the characteristics of electrode materials and the oxidation withstand voltage of electrolyte and solid electrolyte, while other parameters remain unchanged.

  When testing the actual capacity of the lithium-ion battery pack material, try to use a small magnification for charging and discharging to reduce the capacity error caused by polarization and obtain the true capacity of the battery. Generally, 0.1 C magnification is selected for testing. Operators shall wear insulating gloves, masks and protective glasses when loading and unloading button type batteries on the test instrument; Due to the large number of test channels, special marks shall be made on the test battery and test channel, and clear target labels shall be pasted in front of relevant instruments to prevent others from misoperation.
