the battery. Professor Dmitry badk and his team usually use atomic magnetism to
explore the basic problems of physics, such as searching for unknown particles.

sensitive and accurate measurement technology is needed to determine the state
of the battery. The development of many new technologies will depend on the
production of batteries that can provide sufficient capacity and long service
life. Dr Yan wickenbrook, one of the researchers, said: "Ensuring the quality of
rechargeable batteries is a major challenge. Our non-contact detection method is
expected to improve the quality of batteries.". The research team made a
breakthrough by measuring with an atomic magnetometer. Wickenbrook said, "our
technology is basically the same as magnetic resonance imaging, but it is
simpler because we use atomic magnetometers.". They are commercially available
and can be used for industrial applications and basic research. This simple
method can realize fast and high-throughput measurement. In the case of battery
measurement, place the battery in the background magnetic field. The battery
changes the background magnetic field, which can be measured by an atomic
magnetometer. Wickenbrook added: "This change provides us with information about
the battery charging state, remaining battery power and possible damage. The
research team said that the detection capability of this technology is expected
to be used for research, quality control or evaluation during battery operation.
