Charging lithium -ion batteries should be charged with a dedicated lithium ion battery. The charging of the lithium -ion battery is "constant flow/constant voltage" method, which is charged at a constant current, and the constant voltage charging is changed when it is close to the termination voltage. For example, a 800MA.H battery, its termination of charging voltage is 4.2V. The battery is charged at 800mA (charging ratio is 1C), and the battery voltage increases at a large slope at the beginning. When the battery voltage is close to 4.2V, it is changed to 4.2V constant voltage charging. When the charging current drops at 1/10C (about 80mA), it is considered to be close to full, and the charging can be terminated (some chargers start the timer after 10C, and the charging will be over after a certain period of time). The charger (three nickel -cadmium batteries) with a nickel -cadmium battery cannot be used to charge the lithium -ion battery (although the rated voltage is the same as 3.6V). Because the charging method is different, it is easy to cause overcharge.
Charging voltage: The termination of the charging voltage when full is related to the battery negative material. The coke is 4.1V, while the graphite is 4.2V, which is generally called 4.1V lithium -ion battery and 4.2V lithium -ion battery. When charging, it should be noted that the battery of 4.1V cannot be charged with a 4.2V charger, otherwise there will be a danger of charging (the charger ICs used by 4.1V and 4.2V chargers are different). Lithium -ion batteries have high requirements for charging. It requires precise charging circuits to ensure the safety of charging. The accuracy difference between the termination of the charging voltage is ± 1%of the rated value (e.g., the lithium ion battery charging 4.2V, its permission difference is ± 0.042V), and the overvoltage charging will cause permanent damage to the lithium ion battery.
