For packaging forms using PVC heat sealing, it is generally suitable for situations where the number of battery cells in series is not large and the overall weight is relatively light (≤ 2kg). However, for battery packs with an overall weight of ≥ 1kg, fixed brackets need to be added between the battery cells, and fiberglass panels need to be added to protect the periphery before using PVC heat sealing.
Plastic: Using a plastic shell is mainly because after different battery packs are shaped, the shell involved may need to be molded, and the mold cost is a significant expense. If the product is not shaped in the early stage of development, a hand board shell can be used for sampling (the hand board strength is not as strong as the material strength after molding). Different requirements for the material and process of the shell (especially with three prevention requirements) can also affect the cost.
Metal: Metal shells are also the same as plastic shells. Before the product is finalized or there is not much demand for quantity, it is recommended to use sheet metal sample making. This is mainly because the lead time for sample making is short. If the batch size is large, it is also recommended to open the mold. For metal shells with waterproof grade requirements, it will greatly affect the cost, and for metal shells with special materials such as aluminum alloy, the cost will be higher.
