The battery uses inexhaustible seawater as the electrolyte and generates electricity by continuously oxidizing aluminum with oxygen in the air. The electrode reaction formula is as follows:

  Negative electrode: 4Al – 12e===4Al3+

  Positive electrode: 3O2+6H2O+12e==12OH -

  The total reaction formula is: 4Al+3O2+6H2O===4Al (OH) 3
