1. Different safety factor performance
In terms of safety performance, polymer lithium batteries show great advantages, and most polymer lithium batteries are soft packed batteries, and the metal shell generally uses aluminum plastic film. The structural material has good plasticity, flexibility and mechanical strength, and has very good performance in barrier, heat sealing, etc.
The internal electrolyte is solid or colloidal, and there is no excess electrolyte, so it is more stable, and will not cause dangerous situations due to overcharge, needle pricking, impact or other damage, and extremely overuse of the battery. Of course, things are not absolute. If the instantaneous current is too high in extreme harsh environments, it is not impossible to have a short circuit.
However, compared with lithium polymer batteries, they are more safe and reliable. Liquid batteries are prone to leakage. The outer layer is relatively solid, and the heat dissipation is poor, so they are prone to explosion accidents.
2. Different raw materials
The structural characteristics of lithium battery mainly include three elements: positive pole, negative pole and electrolyte. At least one or more elements in polymer lithium batteries are made of polymer materials. Objects made of such polymers generally have high strength, high wear resistance and high elasticity.
However, as far as polymer lithium ions prepared at this stage are concerned, polymer materials are mainly used for positive electrodes or electrolytes. The positive electrode materials are generally inorganic compounds or conductive polymers used in lithium ion batteries, and the negative electrodes are usually lithium metal or lithium carbon interlayer compounds.
The electrolyte is made of solid or colloidal polymer electrolyte, which is similar to plastic film and cannot conduct electrons, but can allow ion exchange (rechargeable atoms or atomic clusters), replacing the traditional porous membrane immersed in electrolyte. The biggest difference between liquid lithium battery and liquid lithium battery is that its electrolyte is made of liquid or colloidal electrolyte.
