There are five common reasons lithium-ion batteries explode

　　1. The negative electrode capacity of lithium-ion batteries is insufficient. When the overcharging core of lithium ion battery is overcharged, the excessive release of positive lithium will change the structure of the positive electrode, and it is easy for too much lithium to be inserted into the negative electrode, which will easily lead to lithium precipitation on the surface of the negative electrode. In addition, when the voltage reaches above 4.5V, the electrolyte breaks down and produces a large amount of gas. All of which could lead to an explosion

　　5. External short circuit External short circuit may be caused by wrong connection of positive and negative poles. Due to external short circuit, the battery discharge current is high, which will heat the battery. High temperatures can shrink or completely damage the diaphragm inside the battery, causing internal short circuits and explosions.
