Start by deciding whether the project actually needs an added function. Compare the Regular series for straightforward power supply, Smart LCD when status must be visible at the battery, Bluetooth for phone-based monitoring, and Self-heating only when low-temperature charging is a defined requirement. Confirm that the required function exists at the selected voltage and capacity.

Recalculate from usable energy and actual runtime rather than copying the old amp-hour rating. Use energy in Wh = nominal voltage × capacity in Ah, then account for average load, peak current, permitted discharge range and a suitable design margin.

It is compatible only when its output behavior meets the selected battery’s requirements. Record maximum output voltage, current, charging stages, float, equalization and temperature compensation. Equalization, desulfation or prolonged high-voltage float modes require particular attention and may need to be disabled or replaced.

Only when the exact model explicitly supports the intended configuration. Use batteries of the same model, capacity, batch and state of charge, follow the permitted series/parallel count, use balanced cable lengths and suitable fusing, and do not mix feature series or new and aged batteries.

Self-heating mainly addresses charging conditions in cold environments; it does not remove all low-temperature limits. Provide minimum ambient temperature, cold-soak duration, charging source and available charging power, then check heating start and stop temperatures, heating energy consumption and the battery’s cold charge/discharge limits.
